Dates With Jesus

IHOP WITH A SIDE OF PANCAKES

“But the Lord said to me: ‘Do not say, I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you; And whatever I command you, you shall speak.” – Jeremiah 1:7

A Cool Fact About Me

I love pancakes and I love breakfast food. I can eat breakfast food during any time of the day. When God said this was our date I thought it was a great choice and I was flattered. God really wanted to sit down and spend time with me. These past few months have been so busy regarding ministry and school. I truly believe that God chose this to settle my spirit and it was needed. The Word of God says in Psalm 131:1, “Lord, my heart is not haughty, Nor my eyes lofty, Neither do I concern myself with great matters, Nor with things too profound for me.” This date reminded me to pray more and worry less.

When God Speaks Life

“Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord.” – Jeremiah 1:8

This date was so beautiful and intimate because God was truly speaking life to me. When God assigns you to something major it is not easy. Sometimes God will speak a word into your life, when your life looks the exact opposite of what is destined to come to pass. Sometimes the enemy will even trick you to believing your youth disqualifies you from the assignment on your life. God, in a way that was so profound, reminded me that He is God and He has the final say. Why? Because He is God. I am reminded of a verse in Psalm 91:11-12, “(11) For He shall give his angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. (12) In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.” On this date God reminded that He truly is the Alpha and Omega and God is with me. No matter what He has assigned me to do, there are angels protecting me and covering me. I also realized that no matter what is going on in my life financially, spiritually, and emotionally it is so important to spend time with God. It is important to give God his tenth. ESPECIALLY, if you are a single man or woman.

When You Decide to Date Jesus

Understand that the enemy is going to try to steal your joy so that you look at the Dates With Jesus as a burden.

This date did not almost happen. We all have responsibilities. When you add up bills, rent, insurance, TITHING (yall need to tithe), and then daily expenses you slightly begin to question if the date is worth it. I am telling you it is! That time you spend with God alone (in public) and enjoying his company is sooooo refreshing and uplifting. GOD pushed me to the date and reminded me that He wanted to spend time with me. He is such a GOOD FATHER and come to find out God led me to a deal! There was a great deal on pancakes ! My food (with a refill of pancakes) was under $25.

It Will Always Work Out For Your Good

So the night before I went to the gym and I was tired when I left. The next day I knew Jesus and I had time that we needed to spend with each other. He picked my outfit, told me how He wanted my hair, and He even told me how He wanted my makeup. I felt like His choice of my outfit was amazing.

Well… the thing is I completely forget my wallet in the gym! I was so worried, it took me a moment to realize where it was. I looked at home it wasn’t there. However, I prayed and told God that I trusted him. I went to my car, I did not see my wallet but all the items that were most important were already in my car! He told me, “No one was has taken anything. Your wallet is protected.”

After praying, I felt the Holy Spirit lead me back to the gym. I went to the gym and there my wallet was! Just sitting there waiting for me! Literally in the same place I left it. It worked out for my good because I wanted to take a picture with good lighting. I believe God allowed that little hiccup, so my picture could be blessed! Lol (because of God) I was able to take a better picture at the gym. Moral of the story, your hiccup will turn out for your good… PRAY and let GOD MOVE. 😊

Give God 100 percent of your time

If I was on my phone it is because God led me to look at something I needed to see. When dating Jesus, give Him your time! Don’t be entertaining foolishness while you are Dating God. We give so much of our time to things of this world. If you are single, this is the time to truly develop an intimacy with Christ and allow him to love you to life!

Final Words

Dating God is more than preparing for your wife or husband. Although, I am single I have accepted that this is the time to allow God to purge me and deliver me from everything that stems from toxic relationships that I have had in the past. I used to date Jesus for a husband… but now it so different.

When I started this journey in August 2017 I never would have thought my mind, my heart, and my soul would be in the peaceful position that it is now. I know for a fact it is because I was obedient and took time to date God. God has changed me.

I remember when I used to be ashamed to open my bible in public, now I sit there, highlight, and I’ll even take notes and truly enjoy this time that I am spending with Christ. I have realized that being single is not a burden. The Word of God says in 1 Corinthians 7:4, “The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does. And likewise, the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.”

When you are married you are under submission to your spouse and God forbid you are under submission to a spouse that does not know God. When you are single this is the time to work, be obedient, and do everything that you possibly can do to satisfy God. Singleness is not a burden or a curse. Singleness is a blessing and if you enjoy your blessing it will be for a season. Let your singleness be the time that you date the Lord.

All in All

I truly enjoyed this date God choose for us, it was great. I enjoyed every pancake and moment that I was able to spend with my Father. He made my life ❤
